YSL A/W Range Face of the Day!

YSL A/W Range Face of the Day!

There’s something about YSL that makes me go weak at the knees; perhaps it’s the luxurious gold packaging, or gorgeous colours that makes me feel like a princess whilst applying it all.  Anyway, I decided to do a YSL ‘Face of the Day’, using only their products.  Here is what I came up with!

YSL LOOK

Firstly, I applied the new Youth Liberator Serum Foundation (in the shade B10, the palest available) with my fingers all over my face for a natural & dewy, yet flawless base.  I decided on a natural eye without my beloved liquid liner (shock shock, horror horror) and instead opted for a subtle smokey look.  I used a selection of the shades in the Palette City Drive ‘Classy’ Palette (from the A/W 2013 Collection) which consists of 4 shimmering shadows; three neutral browns & a grey.  I used the browns on my eye lid and smudged the grey shadow below my lower lash line, before coating on the BabyDoll mascara onto my lashes.
For the lips, I used a combination of my current favourite lipstick, Rouge Pur Couture in the shade #51 Corail Urbain, which is the most stunning peach coral also from the A/W 2013 collection.  I paired it with a slick of one of the new Rebel Nude Glossy Stains in the shade #105; you know I can’t resist a good peach lippie!  Cheeks were left bare as I’m yet to purchase a YSL blusher (I’m on the case) but this adds to the natural/subtle look.
I hope you liked this post!  I’m planning to do a lot more ‘one brand looks’ in the future, so if you have any you would like to see first then do let me know!  The YSL A/W range is out now in stores, as is their new Rebel Nude Glossy Stains & Youth Liberator Serum Foundation.

Toni&Guy HairMeetWardrobe Lulu Kennedy Exclusives!

Toni&Guy HairMeetWardrobe Lulu Kennedy Exclusives!

I’ve been using the Toni & Guy HairMeetWardrobe styling products for about a year now (the Glamour hairspray and Casual Sea Salt spray being among my favourites for creating gorgeous and easy hair looks).  This month, Lulu Kennedy (big fashionista) has created an exclusive design for four of the Toni&Guy products, to run alongside the latest key fashion trends.
I’ve been trialling these products for the past week, so read on to hear my thoughts!

L-R TONI&GUY Glamour Volume Plumping Whip, Casual Sea Salt Spray, Classic Shine & Gloss Serum & Creative Stick it up gum !

My two favourites of the bunch are definitely the Classic Shine & Gloss Serum, which I have been using to smooth through the ends of my hair after washing, which helps to smooth my locks and make it more manageable, as well as the Casual Sea Salt Spray, which I use for an effortless beach babe look.  When my hair is damp I spritz this in, scrunch it up and leave to dry naturally.  I then spritz some more on when fully dry and scrunch more; voila!

The Glamour Volume Plumping Whip had me the most intrigued.  On the box it says to apply and massage this into the roots of your hair after washing, and then to use a big barrel brush and hairdryer to style your hair into a gorgeous, voluminous bounce.  I’ve found this works really well with curlers too.  The Creative Stick It Up Gum is more suited towards girls with shorter hair (like the pixie cut which is super on trend) but I’ve found just rubbing a little between my palms and ruffling up my roots gives some texture and volume (just be sure not to go overboard or your hair will look greasy).

One of my favourite things about the HairMeetWardrobe range is it’s affordability (these products all around £7 for a good size) and the fact that they are really easy to get your hands on, in local Boots stores (one of my pet hates being uneasily accessible).

Clarins Everlasting Foundation

Clarins Everlasting Foundation Before & After!

Another foundation review for you today – I’m rolling them out at the moment!  I’ve wanted to try this foundation for quite a long time, after I saw just how pale their shade range went.  As you know I find it extremely difficult to find foundations that are pale enough for my skin, but I knew the moment I saw this that’d it’d be perfect!

CLARINS FOUNDATION REVIEW

Wearing the foundation!

Colour: I have both the shades 103Ivory & 104 Nude in my possession, but 103 is my go-to (and the one I am wearing in the photographs above).  It is super pale but still manages to make my skin look glowing and vibrant (and matches my neck perfectly).  The photographs above don’t really do it justice; in real life this looks beautiful on my skin.

Formula/Texture: This has such a gorgeous silky feel, it glides on the skin and as it is so light, it blends flawlessly with a buffing brush.  I find it quite pigmented but it blends out evenly leaving you with a natural coverage, whilst still managing to cover any imperfections and blemishes.  This has quite a distinct smell to it which fades quickly after applying and doesn’t bother me at all.  This is also ‘oil-free’, perfect for those combination skinned-gals.

Price: This retails at £26 per bottle.  Quite a big price tag but I would definitely re-purchase!

SPF: Contains an SPF 15 – perfect!

What I Think: This is the foundation I reach for when I want a natural yet flawless looking base.  I find it hassle-free, easy to apply and perfect for that dewy glow look.  As for it’s ‘Everlasting’ title, I find that it isn't neccersaily 'ever-lasting', but I do feel like it wears really well and almost looks better the longer I've had it on.  I normally apply this around 7am in the morning, and by 10am my skin has the most beautiful, dewy glow which lasts up until around 3pm (when I need to cover up imperfections and blot).  All in all, it's a thumbs up from me!

Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?

Real Techniques Duo-Fibre Brush Review!

Real Techniques Duo-Fibre Brush Review!

I’m already a massive fan of the Real Techniques Brush Range so when I heard they were launching a Limited Edition set I was very excited.  I’ve already featured them in my August favourites, but read on to hear more about what I think about the Duo-Fibre range!

The bristles on this brushes are very sparse and not dense at all, meaning the colour pick-up is very sheer and light.  When I first used these I was a little disappointed that it didn’t coat eye shadow and powder on as thickly as it should, but then I realised I had been using them entirely the wrong way.
These products work best (in my opinion) for creating a completely flawless, natural face.  I now use the duo-fibre Face Brush religiously for applying blusher or bronzer and it does THE most incredible job (more so than any other blusher brush I have used).  I often have the problem of applying a little too much blusher and it completely ruins the look.  With the Face Brush however, as it picks up the most tiny (yet even) bit of product and I am able to build up my blusher to create the most incredible glow – I literally look glowing when using these brushes.  This goes for highlighter as well (the smaller Eye Brush being perfect for adding a flush of shimmer on cheek & brow bones).
The Eye Brush is also great for blending out eye shadow (rather than applying it) and the Contour Brush works well contouring (obviously)!  Duo-Fibre brushes in general are great for both powder, cream an liquid products so they are great for experimenting with to work out what works best for you.
These will not be everyone’s cup of tea but I for one am a massive fan.  This limited edition range retails for £23.99 in all Boots stores, check them out if you can!  I thank Sam Chapman for releasing these!
